Wilson Hall Graduation
I had the awesome opportunity this week to bake a variety of cupcakes for a few of this year's Wilson Hall Graduates' celebrations. I greatly appreciate them asking me to bake for them as it allowed me to contribute to their special day and gave me much appreciated business! Altogether, this was the biggest order of cupcakes I have ever received!
Black Bottom Cupcakes (Chocolate with cheesecake baked inside) for Caroline Dowling.
Topped with lime green white chocolate initials

Eva Claire's First Birthday Cake!
My Bible study leader's (and sweet mentor) precious daughter turned 1 this year and I was thrilled to make her first individual Birthday Cake!
I attempted to experiment with two new trendy techniques: the rainbow layer cake and the ribbon icing effect. I tweaked the up and coming trend of creating cakes with layers imitating the colors of the rainbow. Instead, each of the four layers is a different shade of pink, gradually getting darker toward the top. I also learned a new form of decorating cakes by using the ribbon decorating tip and creating a soft and sweet ruffled ribbon effect around the cake. Pink and ruffles! Perfect for any little girl!
Topped with her initials

50th Birthday Surprise Party
My Sweet Aunt Janet turned turned "The big 5-0" this week and we all shocked her with a big surprise party with all of her family and friends! Her reaction was priceless! As for her birthday cake, I baked Red Velvet (everyone's favorite) cupcakes with cream cheese icing and topped them with adorable "50" flags that my cousins, Mary Elizabeth and Emily, made!
The Party was definitely a success and the cupcakes were a big hit! :)

Valentine's Day Cupcakes!
One of my favorite holidays because everything is PINK!!!
Red Velvet Cupcakes with White Chocolate Hearts
Perfect for your Valentine!:)
Lemon Blueberry Cupcake
I absolutely LOVE this flavor combo! This cupcake is to die for!
I simply whipped up a light and fluffy yellow cake and with fresh blueberries. I then topped it with Lemon Cream Cheese icing. The best!
Cupcake Birthday Party!!
This Birthday Party had to be one of my most favorite things I have been asked to do with baking!
Anna Crew and I helped have a Cupcake themed birthday party for her niece, Frankie. I brought two different flavors of undecorated cupcakes, chocolate and pink-and-yellow swirl, along with two types of icing, pink cookies and cream and white cream cheese icing. I brought decorating tips and we helped the girls decorate two cupcakes: one to eat and one to take home in a cute little box.
In addition, I brought two dozen red velvet cupcakes that I decorated myself as her birthday cake. I topped them with her initials made of white chocolate.
The party was the most adorable thing I had ever seen! Each girl got homemade aprons with their initial and a bag full of cupcake goodies to take home. I absolutely loved it!
Penny's First Birthday Cake
I made this tiny individual cake for special friends of mine and their sweet little girl's 1st birthday!
This was actually my first time truly decorating a cake!
It is Red Velvet with Cream Cheese icing.
Anna Crew's 80s Prom Party
My best friend Anna Crew had a Tacky 80s Prom birthday party. To suit to occasion, I concocted these bright, retro cupcakes. They are Red Velvet cupcakes (most everyone's favorite) topped with neon green cream cheese icing and decorated with handmade white chocolate "80s."
Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes
Another one of my favorite flavor combinations, strawberry cheesecake cupcakes are incredible. I simply mixed up one of my strawberry cupcake recipes and baked homemade cheesecake inside. I topped it with scrumptious Strawberry Cream Cheese icing. If you are eating them immediately, a fresh strawberry is the perfect garnish!
Cupcakes for the Football Players
Birthday Box
I love my new investment in these adorable little cupcake boxes! They are such a cute size and the cupcake slots are fantastic in that the keep the cupcakes standing up and in perfect shape!
I this box I have Blue Velvet and Black Bottom Cupcakes! Yum!
Pecan Praline Cupcakes
One of my personal all time favorites, my Pecan Praline cupcakes are a perfect little version of my favorite Pecan Praline cake. I think I may like them better than pralines themselves(which I LOVE).
They are a buttery, pecan-filled cake with my favorite rich, cooked caramel frosting, and topped with chopped pecans.
Cooked frostings and glazes tend to be runny and have a different consistency than others. I have learned that it is not worth it to try and make the icing look perfect but rather have fun and drizzle all over and not worry about the mess. I think the messiness is much cuter and more fun!
